WHO I AM
I'm Emma Thompson, a Chicago-based freelance sports photographer/videography and filmmaker. I studied Film and Television Production at DePaul University and have been behind a camera since middle school. What started as a small hobby turned into Shot by Emma: a space to create, connect, and tell stories that move you.
WHAT I DO
I capture sports, action, and stories through a cinematic lens. My background in filmmaking shapes how I shoot, focusing on emotion, movement, and storytelling. Whether it's an athlete mid-play or a monologue in the climax, I aim to make every frame feel alive.
THE PROCESS
Every project starts with understanding the story: who it's for and what it's meant to say. I bring a mix of film-inspired composition and documentary-style motion to every shot, keeping things real, intentional, and connected.
